"let up" in Spanish
Definition
Cuando algo malo disminuye su fuerza o intensidad, especialmente el mal tiempo, el dolor o una situación difícil. También puede significar dejar de ejercer presión o dar un respiro.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
Expresión informal, frecuente en conversaciones. Común con lluvia, dolor, situaciones difíciles o presión ('the pain won't let up', 'let up on him'). Indica alivio cuando algo malo termina o baja de intensidad, o cuando se pide que alguien deje de insistir o molestar ('let up on me'). No se usa para liberar físicamente cosas.

The rain didn't let up all night.
