걸쇠 또는 래치는 문, 창문, 대문 등을 닫아 두기 위해 사용하는 간단한 장치로 걸거나 밀어서 고정합니다. 잠금을 요구하는 자물쇠와 다르게 단순히 고정하는 역할을 합니다.

‘걸쇠’, ‘래치’는 주로 문, 창문 등 간단한 고정장치를 설명할 때 쓰며, 'door latches', 'window latches'처럼 자주 사용됩니다. 'lock'(자물쇠)와 달리 잠금장치가 아닌 단순 고정장치입니다.
