Definition

ランタンは持ち運びできる照明器具で、外側にカバーがあります。屋外や停電時によく使われ、ろうそく、灯油、電球などで光ります。

「ランタン」は懐中電灯（フラッシュライト）ではなく、レトロなまたは装飾的な灯りに使われます。「提灯」はお祭りなどで使われる紙のランタンのことです。
