桟橋は水の上に突き出た構造物で、岸や港を守ったり、船を停めたりするために作られています。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

‘桟橋’は小型船や防波堤によく使われ、旅客用など大きいものは‘ピア’とも呼ばれます。空港の‘ボーディングブリッジ’とは異なります。
