একটি সংকীর্ণ ভূমি, যা দুই পাশেই পানি থাকে এবং এটি দুইটি বৃহৎ ভূমি অঞ্চলকে সংযুক্ত করে।

ভূগোল ও ভূবিজ্ঞান অধ্যয়নে ব্যবহৃত হয়; সাধারণ কথোপকথনে খুব কম ব্যবহৃত। 'peninsula' বা 'strait' শব্দের সঙ্গে গুলিয়ে ফেলবেন না।
