Definition

যেসব প্রাণীর মেরুদণ্ড বা হাড়ের কঙ্কাল নেই, তাদের অমেরুদণ্ডী প্রাণী বলে। যেমন: পোকামাকড়, কেঁচো, জেলিফিশ ইত্যাদি।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

বিজ্ঞান ও শিক্ষায় বেশি ব্যবহৃত। 'মেরুদণ্ডী প্রাণী' (vertebrates)-এর বিপরীত। 'জলজ অমেরুদণ্ডী প্রাণী' বা 'সমুদ্রের অমেরুদণ্ডী' কথাগুলোতে প্রায়শই দেখা যায়।
