“Infrequent” 属于正式用语，多用于书面语。指某事很少发生，但不是从不发生。常和 'infrequent visitor'（很少来的客人）、'infrequent service'（服务不频繁）等搭配。比 'rare' 更正式，但没有 'never' 那么绝对。
