누군가에게 어떤 정보나 사실을 알려주거나 통지하는 것.

공식적, 반공식적으로 많이 쓰임. 반드시 'inform (누구) of (무엇)' 형태로 사용, 'inform about'는 잘못된 표현. 수동태로도 자주 사용함.

Please inform me of any changes in the schedule.

일정에 변동이 있으면 꼭 저에게 **알려주세요**.

The teacher informed the parents of the new policy.

선생님은 학부모에게 새 정책을 **알렸습니다**.

He will inform us of his decision tomorrow.
