文法的な情報（時制・格・数・性など）を示すために単語の形が変化すること。また、感情や疑問を表すために声の調子が変わることを指す場合もある。

主に言語学や文法の話題で使われる言葉です。英語では動詞変化などが主な用例です。「intonation（イントネーション）」は声の高低だけを指す点で異なります。

The past tense of "walk" is an inflection of the verb.

「walk」の過去形はその動詞の**屈折**です。
