Expressão informal, usada quando alguém está claramente abalado, nervoso ou exagerando uma emoção. Comum em frases como 'She was in a state'. Pode ser modificada: 'in an anxious state', 'in a state of shock'. Não confundir com 'estado' de país ou região.
