人や動物の体温が通常よりも危険なくらい低くなった状態を指します。主に低温に長時間さらされた場合に起こります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

医学的な場面でのみ使われ、単なる「寒い」とは異なります。「hypothermic patient」は重度の低体温症の患者を指します。
