催眠状態とは、催眠術によって無意識状態になること、または何かに心を奪われて周囲が見えなくなる様子を指します。

本来は催眠術による状態を指しますが、深く魅了された時にも比喩的によく使います（例：'hypnotised by the music'＝音楽に酔いしれる）。医学的な診断名ではありません。
