Definition
Ficar em uma posição segura, geralmente para se proteger de perigo ou mau tempo, ou se preparar para uma situação difícil. Também pode significar focar e permanecer em um lugar por um tempo.

'Hunker down' é informal, muito usado no inglês americano durante tempestades, emergências ou quando alguém precisa focar em algo longo. Combinado com 'for the night', 'and wait'. Não use para relaxamento comum — é para preparação ou proteção.
