コンテストなどで、最優秀賞には届かないが優れたと認められる人に与えられる評価。努力や才能が特筆された際に贈られる。

コンクールや学会などでよく使われ、「入賞」や「受賞」とは異なり、正式な賞ではないが特別な評価を得たときに使われます。
