周囲の圧力があっても自分の意見や立場を変えずに守り続けること。物理的な場面や意見の対立など様々な場面で使う。

直訳でも比喩でも使える表現。'hold your ground in an argument'は「議論で譲らない」という意味。攻撃的ではなく、ブレない姿勢を表す。
