미루다연기하다

Definition

어떤 행동이나 결정을 잠시 미루거나, 누군가를 기다리게 하는 것. 잠깐 동안 어떤 일이 일어나지 않게 막는 의미도 있음.

비격식적이고 회화에서 자주 씁니다. 'hold off on' 구문으로 결정을 미루는 상황에 적합합니다. 물리적으로 무언가를 붙잡는 의미는 아님.

Let's hold off making a decision until tomorrow.

결정을 내일로 **미루자**.

Could you hold off the meeting for an hour?

회의를 한 시간만 **미뤄** 줄 수 있나요?

The rain held off until we finished the game.

경기가 끝날 때까지 비가 **오지 않았다**.
