Definition

野球やソフトボールでバットでボールを打つ選手のこと。他のスポーツでは、攻撃力の高い選手を指す場合もある。

主に野球やソフトボールで使われ、「power hitters」は強打者の意味。バレーボールなどでは攻撃力の高い選手にも使われる。「heavy hitter」は影響力のある人を指す俗語。
