危険を避けるために素早く地面に伏せること、またはすぐに行動する準備をすることを指します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

カジュアルな表現で、突発的な危険や何かが落ちてくる時に使います。比喩的に「すぐに行動を始める」という意味でも使われます。普通に座る・寝る場合には使いません。
