Definition

はっきりと言わずに、間接的またはさりげなく誰かに何かを伝えること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

フォーマルでもインフォーマルでも使える。よく“subtly”などと組み合わせる。相手を示すときに'to'を使う。「suggest」ほど直接的ではない。「hint about」は人には使わない。
