Definition

একটি উপদ্বীপ বা উঁচু ভূমির অংশ যা সাগর বা বড় জলাশয়ের দিকে এগিয়ে গেছে, সাধারণত পাশগুলো খাড়া হয়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

এটি ভূগোল, সাহিত্য বা ভ্রমণে বেশি ব্যবহৃত হয়। ছোট পাথর বা বালিয়াড়ির জন্য নয়, বড় প্রাকৃতিক ভূখণ্ড বোঝায়। 'headland' ও 'promontory' পরস্পর প্রায় সমার্থক, তবে 'headland' মূলত projecting জমি বোঝায়।
