同じような出来事が連続して起こること。たいてい成功や失敗、あるいは特定の状況が続く場合に使います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

ややフォーマルなイディオムで、『success（成功）』『bad luck（不運）』『victories（勝利）』『losses（敗北）』などとよく使われます。否定文で使うことは珍しいです。
