누군가와 주로 가격이나 조건에 대해 더 좋은 조건을 얻으려고 실랑이하거나 협상하는 것. 주로 시장 등에서 사용됨.

주로 시장 등 비공식적이고 직접 거래에서 사용됨. 공식 협상에서는 잘 쓰이지 않음. '흥정하다'는 가격이나 조건을 두고 왔다 갔다 말하는 상황에 적합.
