기름이나 기름기(지방)가 묻어서 미끄럽거나 끈적거리는 상태를 말함. 주로 음식이나 표면에 대해 사용함.

대체로 부정적인 뉘앙스로, 너무 기름지거나 건강에 좋지 않은 음식에 자주 사용됨. 'greasy hair'(기름진 머리), 'greasy spoon'(싸구려 식당)과 같은 표현이 있음. 'Oily'보다 더 부정적임.
