Definition

何かに斜めに当たって、そのまま跳ね返ること。動く物体が表面に触れて別の方向に逸れるときによく使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に物理的な場面（スポーツ、事故、物理学）で使われます。物は止まらず跳ね返ります。ボールや弾丸によく使われ、「見る」という意味では使いません。

Examples

The stone glanced off the window and fell to the ground.
