建物の端の壁の、三角形の上部で、屋根の傾斜が壁と出会う部分。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に建築や家の説明に使います。'steep gables'（急勾配の破風）、'decorative gables'（装飾のある破風）、'gable roof'（切妻屋根）などとよく使います。姓など他の意味と混同しないよう注意してください。
