事実や数値をわざとごまかして、本当のことを隠したり、よく見せたりすること。時にははっきり答えず、はぐらかす意味もある。

とてもカジュアルな表現で、やや否定的なニュアンスがあります。「fudged numbers」「fudged the answer」などとよく使われます。深刻な不正とは限りません。
