キリスト教の特定の修道会に属し、社会の中で人々とともに活動する男性修道士です。フランシスコ会やドミニコ会などが代表的です。

「修道士」は特にカトリック系の男性修道者を指し、「僧侶」や「修道女」と区別します。フランシスコ会・ドミニコ会の「～会修道士」として使われます。
