Definition

本来親しくしてはいけない相手（敵やライバルなど）と親密に付き合うこと。多くは規則違反や逸脱を意味します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

フォーマル、否定的な意味合いで使われがちです。「単なる友達になる」とは違い、ルール違反や職業的な線引きの越境を表します。
