Definition

宇宙船や探査機が惑星などの天体に着陸せず、近くを通過しながら観測やデータ収集を行うこと。

主に宇宙探査や科学の分野で使われ、通常の飛行機には使いません。複数形は「flybys」です。

The spacecraft will perform a flyby of Mars tomorrow.
