অফিশিয়াল পরিস্থিতিতে কম ব্যবহৃত; নিজের করা ভুল/অভিজ্ঞতা থেকে শেখার ক্ষেত্রে। 'I found out the hard way' বা 'you found out the hard way' — এমনভাবে প্রয়োগ হয়, অন্য কারও ভুল থেকে শেখার নয়।
