地面が低くて平らな湿地で、水がたまり植物が多く生えている場所。水質は中性やアルカリ性なのが特徴。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にイギリス英語で使われ、特にイングランド東部の「The Fens」に使われます。「swamp」や「marsh」よりも限定的で、中性またはアルカリ性の湿地を指します。
