手探りで進む

Definition

見えないときに手で探りながら進むこと。比喩的には、新しい状況で慎重に少しずつ進むこと。

暗闇や見えない状況で使うほか、新しいことを慎重に習得する意味でも用いる。'through'を伴い「手探りで進む」と言うことが多い。カジュアルな日常表現。

She had to feel her way along the wall to find the light switch.
