Definition

ごちそうや大勢で食事を楽しむこと。特別な日やお祝いなどに多くの料理を楽しむ場面で使います。

お祭りや祝い事、特別な集まりのときに使います。「feasting on ～」で特別な料理を存分に楽しむ様子。日常の食事（eating）とは違い、華やかな雰囲気があります。

We were feasting on delicious food at the festival.

私たちはお祭りで美味しい料理を**ごちそうを味わって**いました。

The family spent the evening feasting together.
