何かが起こる、または誰かが何かをするだろうと信じて待つこと。結果や行動を前もって予想する意味もある。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
'Expects'は三人称単数現在形。人・出来事・結果について使う：'She expects help'や'The manager expects results'のように使う。突然の驚きには使わない。'to'や'that'節と一緒に使うことが多い。
