Definition
発掘作業とは、過去の遺物や建造物、情報を見つけるために土を慎重に掘り出して取り除く作業です。考古学や建設現場でよく使われます。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主に考古学や建設など、専門的・学術的な場面で使われます。『考古学的発掘』や『遺跡の発掘』などとよく組み合わされます。家庭菜園などの通常の土掘りには使いません。
