家紋や紋章を表示する盾。または、鍵穴やドアノブ、配管周りを覆う金属製の飾り板を指します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

建築や紋章学で使われる堅苦しい専門用語です。ドアや配管の金属カバーとしても用いられますが、日常会話ではあまり使われません。
