Titik di permukaan bumi tepat di atas tempat awal gempa bumi terjadi. Juga bisa berarti pusat dari suatu kegiatan atau peristiwa penting.

Awalnya istilah ilmiah untuk gempa bumi, kini sering dipakai secara kiasan untuk pusat kejadian ('epicentre krisis'). Ejaan Amerika: 'epicenter'.
