Definition

雕刻是指在金属或木材等表面上刻画出的图案，有时也指用这些雕刻制作的印刷画。

Usage Notes (Chinese (Simplified))

多用于艺术或历史领域，和‘ancient engravings’（古代雕刻）、‘metal engravings’（金属雕刻）等词组搭配。‘Engraving’既可以指刻画的工艺，也可以是最终作品。不要与‘carving’（雕刻）或‘etching’（蚀刻）混淆。
