光や音、熱などのエネルギーを発する装置や材料。エレクトロニクスでは、トランジスタの電流が流れ出る部分も指します。

主に技術や科学、電子工学の分野で使われる。『LED emitter』『サウンドエミッター』などでよく登場。「トランスミッター」と混同しないよう注意。
