選択科目

Definition

学生が必修ではなく自由に選択できる科目。専門分野以外の知識や興味を広げるための授業。

主に学校や大学の文脈で使われる。複数形で使うことが多い。「core courses」は必修科目、「electives」は自由選択科目と区別される。

I have to choose two electives this semester.
