Definition

学生可以选择修读的课程，而非学位或项目的必修课。选修课让学生有机会学习核心课程之外的内容。

主要用于学术场合，尤其是学校和大学。通常用复数：“选修课”。与“必修课”相对。常见搭配：“选选修课”、“提供选修课”。

I have to choose two electives this semester.
