他の動物を狩る大型で力強い鳥です。鋭い目と強い翼、つめを持ち、しばしば力や自由、国の象徴とされています。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

通常は鳥を指しますが、ゴルフのスコア（パーより2打少ないこと）でも使われます。「bald eagle」「golden eagle」「eagle nest」のような表現があります。
