Forma pasada de 'drown'. Significa morir en el agua por no poder respirar, o hacer que una persona o un animal muera bajo el agua.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
Se usa normalmente en situaciones graves o trágicas. 'Drowned' puede ser intransitivo ('He drowned') o transitivo ('The flood drowned the animals'). También aparece en expresiones metafóricas como 'drowned out', cuando un sonido queda tapado por otro más fuerte, pero eso es otra expresión.
