Definition

ゴルフやサッカーなどで地面から偶然切り取られる芝生や土の小さなかけら、またはその跡にできたくぼみを指します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にスポーツ、特にゴルフの場面で使われます。一般的な土や草の塊を指す場合には使いません。プレー後は"divot"を直すのがマナーです。
