誰かや何かを信頼できない、信用しないこと。正直や信頼性があると思わない状態。

「deep distrust」「public distrust」「distrust of government」などの表現によく使われます。よりフォーマルな場面や疑いが強い場合に使われます。「mistrust」より少しかたい表現。

She feels distrust towards new people.
