骨や関節をもとの位置から無理やりずらすこと。物を本来の場所から移動させる意味でも使われる。

主に医学的な場面で使われ、『dislocate a shoulder』は「肩を脱臼する」という意味です。「骨折」や「捻挫」とは異なります。まれに比喩的にも使います。
