Definition

個人的な感情や利益に左右されず、公平な態度をとること。時に、何かに関心がない意味にも使われます。

主に『公平な』『中立的な』という意味で使います（例：『公平な裁判官』）。『uninterested（興味がない）』と混同されがちですが、正式な場面では『公平な』という意味で使います。

A disinterested judge is important in a fair trial.

公正な裁判には**公平な**裁判官が重要です。

She tried to give disinterested advice to her friend.
