不名誉恥辱約束を破る

Definition

名誉や評判を失うこと、恥をかかせる行為。また、約束を守らないことや借金を支払わない場合にも使われる。

日常会話ではあまり使わず、主に法律・歴史的な場面やフォーマルな文章で使う。'bring dishonour' は「恥をかかせる」、'dishonour a promise' は「約束を破る」。借金を支払わない場合にも使われるので注意。

He felt dishonour after losing the match unfairly.
