常和 'disappear completely'、'disappear from view'、'disappear into the crowd' 等搭配。它既可用於字面意思，也可用於比喻意思：人、物、疼痛、機會、傳統都可以 'disappear'。'Vanish' 意思接近，但語氣通常更強、更戲劇化。
