言葉をどのように発音し、どんな言葉を選んで使うかということ。話し方や文章のはっきりさやスタイルも含まれる。

主にフォーマルな場や学術的な文脈、特にスピーチや演劇、文学で使われる言葉です。'accent'（訛り）とは異なり、'diction'は明瞭さと語の選び方に焦点を当てます。
